He and Kalana use Tibby’s Mirage Fighter, the ALI to join up with the NEW ORLEANS at Plosaxen. Before they arrive, the Brotherhood, on the HAPRIN, is joined by their ally a Tottalax warship. When Tibby and Kalana arrive, the cloaked NEW ORLEANS is taking heavy fire acting as an invisible shield. Tibby and Kalana are forced to remain cloaked themselves while they wait for the battle to wane so they can board the NEW ORLEANS, however, before they can do so the Tottalax unleashes their sleep weapon in an attempt to disable the NEW ORLEANS crew. Tibby and Kalana are rendered unconscious aboard the ALI as ship continues on its flight path after colliding with the Tottalax. Tibby awakens to alarms going off and the ALI is about to crash into a planet. He discovers his ship has apparently been damaged by an impact with the HAPRIN after he and Kalana lost consciousness. Tibby is barely able to make an emergency landing on the remote desert planet aptly named Desolation when Kalana awakens and announces she is going into labor. Tibby must help Kalana deliver the twins; the ALI is unable to take off or fly again, and nearest help is two light-years away Tibby activates an emergency signal for assistance and rescue, knowing it may be years, if ever, that it will be detected and help arrives.
Tibby has no way of knowing what is happening with the war against the Brotherhood. He knows he needs to get back and take command of the 1st fleet but for now he must focus on caring for Kalana and the twins in a hostile environment, with strange nocturnal creatures on a planet that seems dead by day but comes to life after the sun sets. As time progresses, Tibby must deal with the nagging thought of who will hear his emergency message and arrive first, his friends to rescue him, or the Brotherhood that seeks to kill him.

I have been an avid reader of science fiction for over 50 years and in all that time, I have only seen a hand full of science fiction books that incorporate families in the story. In the Solbidyum Wars Saga, starting with book 5, I try a new approach by bringing children into the saga as Tibby and Kalana have twins. Throughout this book and the rest of the saga, you will get to read about these children growing as seen through the eyes of their father. Like most fathers, especially those in the military, getting to spend time with one's children is never often enough, but yet bonds are developed, and interactions take place. I am hoping that by bringing these children into the story it will add an element that will make the stories more realistic, even though they are fiction. I am hoping you will find this addition to the stories interesting and fun, and for those readers who are parents, I hope you can find elements that you can relate to with your own memories of raising your children. For the rest of you, be assured there still will be plenty of action and intrigue as the war continues to grow, and Tibby leads the battle against the evil Brotherhood.

About the Author
Dale Musser was born in 1944 in a small rural community of Pennsylvania. From 1967 until 2012 he was employed as a structural and piping designer in the industries of marine and offshore resources, cogeneration power and hard rock mining. His work at three shipyards and assignments with several engineering and naval architectural firms during his careers in Virginia, Texas, and Maine, took him to such places as London, U.K., Abu Dhabi, U.A.E., Scotland and Mexico. During this time, he was responsible for the design of reactor compartments for nuclear aircraft carriers and submarines for the U.S. Navy and the structural designs of numerous offshore semi-submersible oil rigs, tanker ships, supply boats, and other vessels and equipment used in the offshore industry. After the death of his wife in 1999, Mr. Musser changed careers and went to work in Arizona and Utah in the hard rock mining industry. He retired in the Fall of 2012 and currently resides in Mesa, Arizona.
Dale enjoys rock hunting and lapidary work, gourmet cooking, writing, poetry, art, music, religions and philosophy in small doses, astronomy and the sciences in general, hiking, camping, the outdoors and the gifts that nature provides. Mr. Musser is a member of Mensa and remains an avid reader, having lost count of all the books he has read after 3,000.
The greatest joy in his life is his daughter, Heather. Affectionately they call each other "BUBBY."

buckle up and enjoy the ride

Dale-Dale-Dale - brilliantly written, technically-dramatically-comically - I am upset though, as I couldn't put the book down and now have to wait for book 6. All the while, hoping there will be 60 books - the story line you've created is one like I've never experienced before. the depth of characters is phenomenal and your insight to their technology blows me away, this progression seems believable and real. It's also easy to connect with every character, their personalities and emotions bring your books to life. now, I must tell you, I've changed my mind. I've hoped since book one, that your vision makes it to the big screen... A two hour movie, even with sequels will do your books no justice. I'm hoping that one day, everyone will enjoy your stories on the sci-fi channel in a weekly series, that would last several seasons. I eagerly await book 6. Again, great job and thank you for taking my mind on a trip through the Galaxy and beyond.

A Great Beginner's Book

For someone who knows wired networking, but is new to wireless, this book provides all of the fundamentals and basics you need to know to understand and implement a wireless network of any size. I bought it for possible use as a textbook, which I have now done, but I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to know the basics of wireless networking in explained in an easy-to-read, plain language way.

The book I needed, when I needed it!

This is the textbook that my class called for. Amazon had it, they shipped it to me immediately, I got it in no time. Case closed! :) Although the book itself is a relatively new publication, of course when you take the subject matter into account, the information is a bit dated. But, what can you expect for Information Technologies? New today is obsolete tomorrow. Basic principles of wireless networking is sound, but when it uses hardware examples, the technology had moved on. No longer is 802.11g the end-all, be-all of wireless networking. We have currently moved on to 802.11n at the time of this review. By next week, who knows what may be the new hot standard/trend!

Good example of how many different messages - about submission ...

Catalogue of Richardson's obsessions and sexlife in the early 2000's (possibly also late 1990's) - does not necessarily reflect his life today, but was fodder for the "Terry is a pig" campaign of a couple years ago. Good example of how many different messages - about submission and domination and power-relationships - can be read into the same picture by different people.

The Ultimate Terry Richardson Book

This book is a must have for any Terry Richardson fan. I've always wanted to see Terry's private photo collection at his New York studio. And with this type of book, that's exactly what you get. The book is pretty large, and is about the same size as the book: 'Terryworld'. If you own TerryWorld Then you kind of know, what to expect from Terry.

Some of the x-rated photos in Terryworld appear in Kibosh plus many, many, many, more. The rest of the images are never before seen photographs of Terry Richardson having the time of his life with various women and friends. I would say all 320 pages are full color x-rated photographs. The book is not cheap but if your debating on the price, you have to remember there is not that many editions currently on the market, it's truly a unique piece of work. And is totally worth every penny. I still can't believe I got my hands on one. I collect various coffee table books, and this one is my favorite at the moment. The cover and the typography is a black on black design, which creates a sense of mystery and curiosity for friends or guest to open the book. It's interesting but also funny when guest open the book, definitely an ice breaker.

The book is not intended for everyone and may be offensive to some viewers. Remember to do your homework on who the photographer is. Overall this is a must have if your a fan of Terry Richardson or collect awesome coffee table books.

I waited for some time to purchase this book, and finally did. Worth it! I am a big fan of Terry Richardson, even in light of the controversy surrounding his earlier work and rumored-methods.

The photography itself is very appealing! I would only point up that, in view of his statement at the start that he would not ask a subject to do anything he would not, he certainly did not pose or perform in ways that made him equally vulnerable to his subjects or the viewer. Very FEW straight-identifying males would decline the role of "Terry Richardson" in these photos!

I still love every page of the book.

This May Be the Steel Framing Bible

I was looking for a book on residential steel framing and purchased Mr. Waite's book.
The book is very well written and covers all applications of residential steel framing--the How and the Why.
I'm a novice DIY builder and feel that I have the confidence after reading the book to take on a moderate sized project.
I'm not eloquent, but feel the book is a very good value for those interested in residential steel framing.

Great Book to Teach Old House Framers New Tricks

If you want to build with steel this book not only shows you how, but also gives you manhours for your estimates!
I was impressed with the size and scope of the information here. From the types of tools needed for working with steel, to laying out the project, bacing, and construction of steel walls, roofs, even curved walls, and different types of insulation. It is well-written, and contains a CD-ROM for estimating -- complete with a database (one of the few I could find) of steel building materials and estimated manhours for installing the materials. All this for the low price of this book.
I've framed with wood for most of my life but after I've read this book I feel that I'm ready to try steel. After all, it's termite-proof, it doesn't burn too well, and offers value. I guess as more wood-framers that read this book, the more competition I'll have.

While it was not the book I expected, it does cover the topic of framing your house in steel very well. It even answers the question of "How do I hang a picture?" :-) This book is for the DIY with a small house or for professionals who want to switch to working with steel. From start to finish, it is framing in steel.

Als Teil der aktiven Assistenz gehe ich auf die Sexualbegleitung ISBB® in Trebel und die Prostitution gesondert ein.
Im zweiten Teil widme ich mich der Sexualität und ihren unterschiedlichen Aspekten. Dabei beschreibe ich den biologischen, soziosexuellen und psychosexuellen Aspekt, sowie die Entfaltung der Sexualität im zeitlichen und kulturellen Wandel.
Im dritten Teil stelle ich die besonderen Umstände dar, die für die Sexualität von MmB in dieser Gesellschaft und im Allgemeinen gelten (z.B. die erhöhte Missbrauchsgefahr). Dabei interessieren mich die gesellschaftlichen Vorurteile, deren Wirkung auf den Umgang mit Sexualität und Behinderung abstrahlt. Ich begegne der Frage, ob es ein „Recht auf Sexualität“ gibt und versuche Ansätze zu finden, warum gelebte Sexualität zwischen behinderten und nichtbehinderten Menschen kaum stattfindet(oder stattfinden darf?).

Der vierte Teil der Arbeit befasst sich größtenteils mit den Aussagen, die ich aus unterschiedlichen Quellen herausgearbeitet habe. Dazu interviewte ich zwei Sexualbegleiter in der Schweiz und zwei Sexualbegleiterinnen aus Deutschland. Des Weiteren besuchte ich einen sog. Erotikworkshop in Trebel, wo ich die Möglichkeit fand zwei männliche, körperbehinderte Kunden zur SB zu befragen. Auf einen Aufruf im Internet hin meldete sich ein junger Mann mit einer Körperbehinderung, der sich meinen Fragen schriftlich stellte. Seine Erfahrungen beziehen sich auf Treffen mit Prostituierten. Um darüber hinaus auch die sexuellen Möglichkeiten und Einschränkungen von MmB in einer Institution im Blick zu haben, sprach ich mit einer Mitarbeiterin des psychologischen Fachdienstes der Bruderhausdiakonie in Reutlingen.

So ergibt es sich, dass sich drei Perspektiven auf SB und Prostitution ergeben. Die der Kunden, die der Anbieter (wobei nur SBter interviewt wurden) und die Sichtweise einer Institution.
Im der Schlussbetrachtung und Ausblick, gleichzeitig fünften und letzten Teil der Arbeit versuche ich das gewonnene Wissen zusammenzufassen und in Verbindung zu bringen.
Dabei will zu einer Klärung der Frage kommen, welche Bedeutung käufliche, sexuelle Dienstleistungen im Leben eines MmB zukommen können und ob sie den Bedürfnissen der Menschen gerecht werden.

Sharing his 40-plus years of experience in overhauling and refitting a myriad of different sailboats for offshore cruising, Berman offers straight-forward advice on rigging selection, engines, ground tackle, safety gear, electronics installations, and the hull. --Practical Sailor

Berman Review by Karen Larson Minneapolis, Minnesota The subtitle, Refitting Used Sailboats for Blue-Water Voyaging, of Peter Berman s new book, Outfitting the Offshore Cruising Sailboat, tells why it s an important new reference for good old boaters. Peter s basic premise is that new offshore cruising sailboats are prohibitively expensive and somewhat uncommon, while the market in used cruising sailboats is rich and vast and flourishing. There s something there for everyone. His 45-year experience as a cruiser in nearly a dozen different designs (CCA through modern racing designs) is enlightening. While Peter has formed strong opinions about many features, he does not recommend one design type over another. He knows, perhaps better than most, that every sailboat is a compromise and that priorities and budgets will vary from sailor to sailor. What he offers is a series of observations and a logical review of onboard systems that will help any prospective offshore cruiser consider the pros and cons of each system, feature, and sailboat type. In the end, the reader of Outfitting the Offshore Cruising Sailboat will be able to determine which features are personally important and which have a lower priority. I chuckled occasionally at Peter s dry wit but found that I didn t agree with every word of his sage advice. I m just one sailor, after all, with one set of values and preferences, but I was surprised, for example, to note that Peter overlooked the value of freshwater sailboats, as they apparently do not figure in the experience of this East Coast (and beyond) sailor. Peter starts his discussion of good used boats by ranking the most expensive systems: the rig, the engine, and the ground tackle. As these are the most expensive items to replace, he gives each system a thorough and thoughtful critique based on his experiences as a cruiser. There are many nuggets here for every would-be cruiser. In particular, he includes good tips about good and bad construction features in the rig, bearing in mind intended use for coastal vs. offshore work. This section clearly spells out features to look for if you will be cruising offshore. Over all, Peter offers great advice about buying a good old cruising sailboat and how to refit it for several more decades of offshore cruising adventures. Like the rest of us, Peter has conflicts about the best possible cruising sailboat. After saying that larger is always better, that system redundancy is critically important, and that you should replace practically everything before going offshore, Peter admits that his first cruiser was probably his favorite. A primitively equipped wooden Dickerson, this boat cost only $16,000, had fewer systems to maintain, and was his most affordable cruiser. After telling readers they should probably invest the purchase price of the boat in the refit, and to replace all the important and expensive systems, he reminds us that the first priority is to just go. Time is the enemy, he says, so don t spend your life in endless outfitting. In the end, as in all things, it s up to the reader to make his own choices based on his own list of priorities. But Peter offers great advice that may help each reader rank his own list of priorities and consider some systems and construction methods that he may not have thought about. If you re still searching for your offshore sailboat and juggling the hundreds of variables, Peter Berman a guy who s been there and done that has some very useful advice for you. Read this book. Our thoughts are that it is VERY in depth and very well put together. If a person is serious about putting together a used boat for extended offshore cruising this is a MUST read. The depth that this book covers would shame most and I use the word MOST surveyors. The best use for this book would probably be for the person who already has this type of boat that would use it as a guide to improve/repair. Comprehensive,detailed and realistic

An experienced hand gives forth on the many most important considerations and

likely costs of restoring a cruising sailboat. Estimates are a little daunting when added all up but still

much less than a comparable new boat. A valuable corrective for the casual dreamer.

Covers the range of options on less and more elaborate projects.

Valuable book

Very thorough and hard-headed analysis of what does and does not stand up to long-term offshore use in the writer's experience. Little good news here for current owners. Example: I thought auxiliary diesels were bulletproof: Nope, they're not made for the long haul. He does like in-mast furling, though. Go figure.

Good solid review

I'm surprised at how easy it is to read and how much I'm learning. I'm not sure if I'm learning new things or just putting a lot of things together in a more organized way of thinking. Either way I have learned enough to make it a good purchase. When you're going offshore you can never be too careful or too prepared. This is helping me get better organized and make better decisions about how I spend my money on the boat. I recommend it.

An Ezy Way Out - Shame

I love any book that concentrates on the sessions rather than the gossip and dirt. This book rather answers the basic need but obviously does not fullfil it. This book is the easy way out: a result of an effortless work for passing some time with nothing better to do. Or - lack of ability.
First this book certainly lacks ingredients that are a MUST in this kind of resources:
an Index!!! come on guy, this is so basic it's an unprofessional attitude not to include it. How can I follow the development of a recording without it.
Bad editing: have a look at the Beatles Sessions book to know what I mean. A minimal requirement is to have the name of the songs dealt with in that session next to the date and session details. The titles are not even bold letters in the text.
Dicography - Such a book needs a REAL comprehensive discography with refference to the sessions mentioned. Again, Mcdermott chose the ezy way out: "Selected Discography". Whenever I see Selected Discography I know it's not a result of a thorough deep research but just the easy way out to add another item to the content and few more pages to the book. Same here - a bad lacking discography that adds nothing. Mcdermott did not even take the effort to refer the discography to the sessions he has just filled a whole book with.

in addition to the above, the text lacks a lot of the pro side expected of a studio sessions book, a real disappointment on my side. Having so many recordings available today, Hendrix Sessions book could be much better and comprehensive.

I hope some talented author will take upon himself the task for a "Jimi Hendrix Complete Session and Reference Book".

Saying all of the above, I still hold to this book as it has nice photos and some interesting stories that justify my low investment in this book.

Worth having, but slightly disappointing

I was excited about getting this book, because I'd read Lewisohn's similar book on the Beatles. I love chronological order, and I tried to put a date to each song on Hendrix's first three albums. But what was disappointing was that McDermott seemed to forget to mention several song and their recording dates. But the text is otherwise great reading, and the photos are wonderful. I just wish it truly was "Complete" as the Lewisohn book seems to be.

It's a great book for those who like jimi hendrix.It explains how, where and when jimi has ever recorded his songs. Although, it's an overdetailed book that will annoy who's not a loyal fan...

Best GED Prep Book Around!

I got this book for my nephew who opted to take this test versus finishing his senior year of high school. He asked for my help with the math, but having been out of school for several years and not knowing specifically what type of math is on this test, I hoped to find a book with some specifics. I reviewed every section of this book and I was impressed with how well it organized the information and provided examples. I was grateful to receive this book for free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
To start, this book has an excellent introduction. It explains what the GED test is, how the test is administered, what all the sections/topics are, how many questions are in each section and how much time is allotted for each section. They also explain how the test is scored. The Sections are as follows: Math, Reasoning through Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies. The last section of this book includes Practice tests for each section and answer keys; an added plus.
Each section is broken down into sub-sections sand those sections are broken down even further. Each sub-section includes plenty of examples to understand the subject matter. I highly recommend this book for anyone tackling this test. I don’t think there is another book around that could present this information in a better format.

I wasn't sure about this study guide because it was really cheap. However, this book was really helpful. It covers all the core subjects and is really clearly laid out. Also has lots of practice. I'm taking the GED next month and I believe I will pass it thanks to this book.

I will admit that I am not actually planning on taking this test myself, rather I picked this up as a form of self education and entertainment for the many road trips and long distance drives my family takes. Yeah, I call test taking FUN and entertaining haha :) that said, about the study guide...

It has a nice and easy layout with all of the core subjects covered that you would expect to find on the official GED test. Language arts, math, science and social studies. This is a fantastic overview of what to expect as well as a nice refresher if you're like me and looking to pass some time without a screen!

I tried to provide as many photos of the details as I could because honestly when I look at reviews I first go to the photos to see the real life image of the item as I have found sometimes the stock photos can misrepresent what you're buying.

It is also important to note that I did not receive any kind of compensation for my review and I do not have any connection or relationship to the seller. Military Historians Dream

This book will be of great interest to any military historian. Guderian takes us through the development of the Panzer force both in its formation and tactics and its implementation in the battlefield in the Polish, French and Russian campaigns. There are detailed accounts of his involvement in those campaigns and at times I got a little lost in the geographic references and the poor sketch maps did little to compensate. However,the book is more than that. The book contains an incredible insight into the German High command, Hitler and his cronies and their disasterous blunders such as at Dunkirk and the gross under estimation of Soviet Russia in terms of fighting ability and technology. What I found of special interest was of the recollections of meetings and arguments with Hitler and Guderian's refusal to bow to the Furher's will power. Guderian was dismissed after the failure of the German army at the gates of Moscow in 1941 but his talents could not even be overlooked by Hitler and after further set backs were encountered was recalled to service in 1943. The Allies were fortunate that Guderian's talents were hindered by Hitler's "YES" men, overwise the war could have taken a different course. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in World War Two from a German stand point.

Great Book From a Great Leader!!!

Great book from a Great General!!! Heinz Gurderian was a brilliant strategist and leader of military ranks. As one who was probably the few men that dared to actually SCREAM at Hitler and lived to tell about it, as witnessed and documented by others that were present at this event, Guderian had the courage and fortitude to fight for what he believed was the Right no matter who might oppose him. As General Hermann Balck stated in his memoirs, "Guderian was always battling someone and made many enemies." Panzer Leader is the memoirs of Guderian and he sets a lot of "historical license" by other writers, notably Churchill, straight!!! He recounts his wartime experiences and I highly recommend this book. Very lively reading and at times humorous and definitely not dull. You will enjoy this book and this should be in anyone's military collection.

Mechanically written but interesting detail

The book is written by one of the German Generals that was a key to Hitler's plans. The author is not a dynamic writer but gives a very bland view of the events. Technically very interesting and full of details that anyone interested in the German perspective of the period will interested in.
