Excellent Substitute For Mr Miyagi

My company recently transferred me from Newark, NJ to Reseda, CA. Since I was only a yellow belt in Six Sigma the other guys in my office kept beating me up. I needed help, but with Pat Morita dead I was forced to find an alternative. After reading this excellent book by I was able to beat out Johnny Lawrence for a big promotion. I have my eyes on the Okinowa office next.

Another wonderful Assassin's Creed artbook

I like Assassin's Creed artbooks because they usually feature beautiful landscape artworks of historical places from the past. In Unity, it's in Paris during the French Revolution. Presentation style is similar to the earlier artbooks with a good mixture of character designs and environment art.

The costume designs for all the characters are beautiful and detailed. I've always wondered how people in those times managed with so many layers of clothing and how heavy they weigh with all those accessories and weapons hanging all around. Almost all the characters are male except Elise De La Serre.

The other artworks are all on the landscapes, interiors and key scenes. It's really cool to see how the artists interpret old Paris. There are the rooftops of Paris with their familiar chimneys. exquisite monuments such as the Conciergerie, Notre Dame, Eiffel Tower and other landmarks and less savoury places. There are some really nice textures going on that show the nitty-grittiness of the places. I really enjoy looking at the architecture design of buildings at that time.

The artworks are generally beautiful although some pieces are quite rough, thankfully in minority. Composition for most of the environment art are fantastic, and really captures the scenes well.

The book a 192-page hardcover. There's also a 500-copies limited slipcase edition that comes with two signed art prints from Ludovic Ribardière and Gilles Beloeil. For the limited edition, you've to get it from publisher Titan Book's website

It's a great companion to the video game.

Its like a magazine

Ubisoft quality. I bought dragon age art book, same prize but has double thickness then this. Plus there's no much pics about design, its just some colored conceptual illustration. Wheres the sketches for historical item study?

A Masterwork

A commentary that does not skim over texts, but goes into detail of each verse (1,400 pages for the two volumes). The two volumes have been my companion now for several months in my morning Bible study, and will be for a few months more.
Though the detail of Hebrew words is gone into, it is done in such a way that the non-Hebrew-scholar can understand. And the "Theological implications" sections at the end of each portion are a mine of spiritual treasures.
Though I am possibly not well placed as a layman to judge, for me it is THE study on Ezechiel to study.

The book is easy to read through with lots of footnotes

The book is easy to read through with lots of footnotes. Has been a big help in understanding the evil of idolatry and how far the implications reach even into our time today. While the original words were given to Israel by God through Ezekiel, the message is still relevant for us. The book helps to understand the multiple sins that were being practiced by the people that thought they were in God's favor but in reality were not, due to their wayward state of seeking out the false gods of the pagan nations. The book will shed light upon your own heart and show where repentance is needed since we all are guilty of idolatry in various forms and degrees. The book helps in unpacking the symbolic language used by Ezekiel to convey God's glory and the kinds of wrath that play out in the book. Pick up a copy and read and grow!

This an incredible commentary and teaching vollume for the serious student of the Bible. The writing is incrediblely clear. The price might hold you back. Don't let it. This is one you'll treasure for a lifetime.

Good resource

This translation dictionary is a very good resource for the dedicated Mongolian language learner. The price is steep, however.

I choose to have my school purchase a used copy of this book as part of a comprehensive Mongolian language program, and am glad to have it. If a used copy can be found, grab it. Paying the full cost for a new copy of this dictionary is pretty hard to swallow at this price, but there is a dearth of Mongolian translation dictionary resources, so it may be warranted if you expect to use it heavily/professionally.

I had my Mongolian teacher look over the book (as I'm a beginner in Mongolian) and he believes it is both accurate and comprehensive. Unlike several of the other Mongolian translation dictionaries on Amazon (as of Apr2010), this one is a more complete resource (~900 pages).

Note however, it is an English to Mongolian translation dictionary only. A separate dictionary will be required to quickly translate found Mongolian words into English.

This dictionary is probably overkill for short Mongolia travels.

Best English-Mongolian dictionary in print

This dictionary contains over 90,000 words and phrases, with solid explanatory notes where necessary and sufficient discrimination of different senses of the English word, which is far better than any other English-Mongolian dictionary I have had to work with. While it is a bit hefty for a beginning student, it is essential for anyone continuing in Mongolian; I work in Mongolia as a translator and often have recourse to it, for no other E-M dictionary comes close to it. My impression is that the coverage of British colloquial equivalents is perhaps fuller than that of American, which some might consider a feature rather than a bug.

It does have some flaws, however--indeed, I worked for Monsudar on the 2nd edition, as well as the forthcoming Mongolian-English dictionary, back in early 2010 as an English editor, and while the mistakes mentioned below would have been corrected in a second edition, neither of those volumes has yet appeared on the market. First, there are occasional gaps in vocabulary that are irksome for the professional translator but of no great importance for the student: the 1st edition includes "parrot" but not "parakeet," "commodious" but not "commode," "cognitive" but not "cognition," and "discomfort" but not "discombobulate," for example. The 2nd edition was to have added about 5,000 new headwords, but in any case it would be a bit unfair to criticize necessary editorial selection for not producing a complete translation of the AHD. More troublesome, alas, is that there are occasional misprints that make the dictionary slightly unreliable, e.g. the first definition given for "trademark" is in fact simply a repeat of the second definition for "trade-off" (two entries below). Third, in general the coverage is a bit patchier on the colloquial level than the formal, but many specialized terms are missing as well, such as (surprisingly) "ion" and any of its derivatives. Finally, very occasionally you'll find a headword out of order.

Nonetheless, I strongly recommend this dictionary. While it is less important for the student than a Mongolian-English dictionary (for which Charles Bawden's dictionary is still by far the best), it is still a necessary book to have.

About the Author
Since 1985, the Center for Chemical Process Safety (CCPS) has been the world leader in developing and disseminating information on process safety management and technology.  CCPS, an industry technology alliance of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), has published over 80 books in its process safety guidelines and process safety concepts series.

A team of CCPS member volunteer experts guided the development of this book, which was compiled by Randal Montgomery and Andrew Remson under contract. Messrs. Montgomery and Remson have helped facilities develop and implement MI programs and have instructed hundreds of engineers and process safety professionals on the topic.

Outstanding reference, don't start an MI program without reviewing the information in this book first.

Excellent technical reference for anyone trying to implement or upgrade a mechanical integrity program. The section on equipment specific integrity management was exactly what I was looking for. It summarizes input from multiple standards and codes to provide a clear basis for how to justify what, how frequently and why you are doing the things in your mechanical integrity program. I wish someone had told me about this reference six months ago, it would have saved me a lot of work.

Kindle users beware!

Good information though it was not what I was looking for. I wanted specific ITPM procedures and frequencies. Not here. This is a higher level.

Information still very good and is a valuable resource.

But most of the tables are pictures and turned on their side. I could find out how to rotate them.
So two issues:
1. had to rotate my monitor to read the tables
2. Could not copy paste to make a list of the API standards that I wanted.

Excellent Resource for MI Systems

I read this book in order to get a complete grasp of Mechanical Integrity and how to help implement it in my company. After reading this, we bought six more copies to distribute to the others attempting to implement MI at our facility. Excellent resource!!
